Take Notice: Mayer Hawthorne Tracks I

Here are some of my favourite Mayer Hawthorne tracks. This list is not comprehensive. Check it.

Your Easy Loving Aint Pleasin Nothin

This video is a great introduction into Hawthornes style and musical personality. This is a perfect shower track —  you know a track you dance to while in the shower. The video is Mayer’s best, lucky sex for the eyes.

Maybe So, Maybe No,

This song is one of the ones I feel has that classic J-dilla meets soul music mix. It is becoming Hawthorne’s signature sound.

A Strange Arrangement

The album’s title track is one of the only ones without a video. The song is remiscent of broken hearts and a youthful naive love. I find myself humming this song and triggering memories that should not be triggered. Love it.

Litte Boxes

Time for a quick interlude, seems Mayer Hawthorne felt the need to add his flavour to this short ditty. The original song was used for a Weeds intro and was a Rage Against the Machine type track. Check out the original here.
